Yes, I've finished several books on my reading list but haven't posted any book reviews yet. Well, here's my first.
Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult.
I am a real fan of Picoults books. I've probably read at least 6 of her books and I've only been disappointed by one. I posted about that here.
This books caught my attention from the first page and I couldn't put it down. Yes, maybe you could predict a lot of what was going to take place-but that wasn't the case throughout the entire book. There were a few surprises.
The book begins with an Amish teenager giving birth to a baby on a farm in Pennsylvania. The story continues with the search for the baby's mother, the truth behind the birth and then death of the child, and the consequences that follow.
I felt that Picoult did a great job of portraying the Amish lifestyle in true form. I have read many fiction books about the Amish and this book followed many of the same ideas.
Overall, this was a great book- probably not my favorite book by this author but one I would recommend. Wanted to add though that there are some words throughout the book that some may find offensive.

I really liked this one. Although it's not in my usually-favorite genre of mystery/suspense, Picoult really drew me in and kept me reading. I grew up not far from "Amish country," but this book gave me even greater insight into their culture and customs.
I have a friend who loves her books, but I have yet to read one. Might have to try one of these days.
Just wanted to let you know I'm hosting a giveaway - come check it out! Thanks!
Thanks for stopping by! We have great taste! :) Yes, that Keeping Faith book of Jodi's did not interest me for the reason you mentioned. I just found her Perfect Match book in a thrift store but haven't read it yet! Happy Reading and have a great weekend! God bless!!
I really liked this book--I think because of the Amish angle. It made me want to be industrious and productive.
