Robin McGraw's book, What's Age Got To Do With It? is a great resource for women dealing with the natural aging process. It's not easy going down this road. Strange things are happening to our body and mind and Robin does a great job of explaining how SHE is dealing with it all. I especially liked her chapter on hormones. As a woman that is in perimenopause, I found it very interesting and may speak with my doctor about the option of bio-identical hormones.
Robin is open and honest about her life and how she is dealing with it all. I was, however, disappointed in the chapter on faith. What's Faith Got To Do With It? um, everything in my book, yet this was the shortest chapter in the entire book! But again, she is honest in admitting that when she isn't spending time with God, she can tell!
I think this is a good book for women to read, no matter what age. It can help us all prepare for what is ahead or help us through what's going on right now. Just remember to take it with a grain of salt, this is HER life she's talking about, not your life. We'll all deal with things differently, Mrs. McGraw just gives us her perspective on how she deals with it!

The Unseen- I Just Don't See It!

“The Unseen” is the second book I have read by T.L. Hines. The first book “Waking Lazarus” was an intriguing book that held my attention from the first page. “The Unseen” didn’t have that same draw. Perhaps it is because the subject just did not peak my interest. I found it difficult to follow along with all the information about the urban explorers. The actual story was somewhat interesting, but the whole idea left me feeling almost violated, which I guess may have been Hines’ goal in the first place.
Lucas, the main character, is a loner who hides in buildings and spies on the inhabitants. But he soon becomes aware of a more sinister group- The Creep Club- that goes beyond simple spying and moves it to a more personal level. What follows will leave you weary to the point where you may find your hair raising every time you get “that feeling” that someone is watching you.
While I personally like the style of writers such as Ted Dekker a bit better than Hines, I will give his other books a chance before I decide against him as an author I enjoy. Be sure to check the book out at Thomas Nelson website and decide for yourself.

Billy, The Untold Story
Billy Graham was a household name in my home in NC. Though I never saw him preach in person, I watched his crusades on television many times and was repeatedly overwhelmed by his love of the Lord and his enthusiasm in sharing that love with others.
Charles Templeton was a name I had never heard of before receiving this book to read. Reading about his rise to fame as an evangelist and his eventual downward spiral into the deep depths of disbelief was both enlightening and unsettling.
Reading about the friendship of these two men was interesting but my interest was most peaked by having the opportunity to learn about how Billy Graham got his start in his religious career. The Billy Graham I had been accustomed to, was the beloved silver haired gentlemen on television. It was a blessing to gain knowledge about his true “early years”. It was inspiring to see Mr. Graham as a “real man” and to see the struggles that he faced-not only in his rising career but in his faith. Reading of the torment and anguish that Mr. Graham suffered as he struggled with his faith in one particular section of the book was life changing for me.
I would recommend this book to anyone interested in reading a faith building book.

What's on Your Nightstand?
I have a pretty steep stack of books but a couple are books with study guides so it really isn't nearly as daunting as it appears.
Adam by Ted Dekker- this is my first Dekker book and I love it. I'm really into the "mystery-murder-mayhem" stuff. I've had a hard time putting this book down. The first afternoon I think I read 160 pages! A friend at church recommended Dekker and I'm glad he did.
Skin by Ted Dekker- gonna start this one as soon as I finish Adam.
The Extraordinary Mrs. R: A Friend Remembers Eleanor Roosevelt by William Turner Levy and Cynthia Eagle Russett- a biography of Eleanor Roosevelt. Not really sure why I picked this up at the library the other day but I'm looking forward to reading it.

My Life Unscripted: Who's Writing Your Life?
by Tricia Goyer
Even though I don't like to admit it, always worrying about others' opinions is self-centered thinking at it's highest point. Sometimes we're so worried about how we are perceived, we don't take time to notice or care for others. Of we're always worried about us, how can we truly think about them?
Pretty good stuff huh???
