What We've Been Up To!

My goodness- it seems like it’s been forever since I wrote a post that’s just about “stuff”. You know, what all I’ve been doing, what the family is up to, etc. I know you are dying to hear all about it. Come on, don’t lie- I know you hundredsfew people that read this blog have been wondering!

So- here it is in the Reader’s Digest Version-

April 2- Mark and I left at 10:00 p.m. and headed to Washington, DC with around 50 other 5th graders and about 40 or so chaperones. It was a LONG bus ride. We stopped somewhere in Virginia around 4:00 a.m. to change clothes and brush our teeth- that was interesting. Then we had breakfast in DC at The Hard Rock Café and started touring. We didn’t even get to our hotel until around 9:00 Thursday night.

The trip was great though. We were there through Saturday afternoon around 3:00. Got home around 1:15 a.m. Sunday morning. We were exhausted! Here are a few pictures of what we saw.




Then on Tuesday the family headed to Myrtle Beach where I promptly FRIED myself in the sun on Thursday morning. Why oh why would I lay out in the sun with NO sunscreen- even if it was over cast. My snake like appearance now shows the damage done!

Mark had a baseball tournament the weekend following the beach trip- they came in 3rd. That Saturday they were supposed to play at 11:15- they didn’t even start until almost 3:00. Rain delays are so much fun! Mark typically practices 2 to 3 times a week and has a tournament every other weekend.

Luke is busy playing with baseball as well. They usually have two games a week and practice at least once- most of the time twice a week.

Between the two of them we are on the road constantly- but we do enjoy it!

So that’s pretty much what we’ve been up to. I know you feel so enlightened now!!

bloggy Giveaway-#2- Purse Organizer-Insert

Recently I started sewing and one of the things I am making are purse organizers or inserts. They are great. You just put your things in the little pockets, roll up the insert and place it in your purse. Now all of those loose things are contained and easy to find. I love mine.

So for the bloggy giveway I am giving away one purse organizer. This one is black, gold and silver. Here are a couple of pictures. The first shows the insert and all of the things you can store in it.

It's my wallet, a manicure set, my keys, my iPhone and then vasaline, lip gloss, two pens and a Tide Pen.

Works for Me Wednesday-adding icon to iPhone home screen

Good Golly Miss Molly- I'm actually posting something on here! Whew- I can't believe I've been so slack lately. Lots and lots to talk about- but for now I'll just give my little tip for the day for Works for Me Wednesday-

If you have an iPhone and can take a second away from playing with it applying it's extreme functionality, you might want to add an icon from the Internet to your home screen. Here's how to do it:

It's really quite simple- actually most of you probably already know how to do it-but here goes:

click on safari and go to the website that you want to use- then click on the nifty little + symbol on the bottom of your screen, then you can choose to add it as a bookmark, add it to your Home Screen or mail the link to someone.

It's that simple- and if you want to change the name of the icon- simply type in the new name!

Now, if you want to REMOVE an icon that you've added- that's easy as well. Simply press and hold the icon- all of the icons on the Home Screen will start wiggling. Then just click the "x" and you can delete it. now I just need to figure out how to delete ones that I don't use that where on there when I got the phone. A little research and I'm sure I can figure it out!

It's Good to Be Home!

Whew- what a trip. Mark and I left Wednesday night around 10:00 for Washington, DC with the rest of the 5th graders! We traveled all night and had breakfast at the Hard Rock Cafe in Washington at 6:45 and hit the tours after that. We didn't stop until we got to the hotel at 9:00 that night! Talk about tired.

The next two days were just as packed. We got home around 1 this morning. I slept until noon today and then took about a 2 hour nap this afternoon.

It was a great trip. I'll post more details and a few pictures later!!!
