This week over at WFMW it's a Back To School Theme!
Here's my little tip: Start their morning off right! I'm not talking about feeding them Cheerios! I'm talking about having God's word available for them to see first thing in the morning.
I started this many years ago but must admit that I've been VERY slack lately. So here is my commitment to start my kids day off right this school year. I'm going to print out Bible verses and glue them onto index cards and then post them on their bathroom mirror. I'll post a new verse each week.
First week of school will be:

1 Peter 3:8-9 (New International Version)
8Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. 9Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
Thanks to Zaankali for sharing this verse in her post today.

GREAT idea! I post a verse on the refrig. but I think I'll post a different one on the bathroom mirror.
Oh, this should soooo be our verse for this week!!
My oldest is the only one who can read well enough, so maybe when they get older I can leave verses around for them to find.
I bet I could do this: If I printed a set of verses on a page with a specific picture or decorative border, and we rotated through them week by week, eventually the younger two would recognize them by the picture, so even if they can't read the words, they will know which verse it is and be reminded of it.
I am SOOO going to do that. We start school each day off with handwriting - a verse from the book of proverbs, always one dealing with heeding instruction, honoring your parents or seeking wisdom. ;) I can combine these two things together - thanks!!
Hugs!
Funny, you read all the same blogs I do! I have three boys and the first verse we learned when we started "school" last year was Colossians 3:20 and Psalm 133:1. Great verses to pull out when things are dicey!!
Great idea. What a wonderful way to start the day.
I am out doing some blog hopping. I am participating in a Bible study I think you might be interested in.
I would like to invite you to join us for an online Bible study for MOMMAS on the book of Ephesians. We are using my (Jean Stockdale) workbook called “High Stepping in Heavenly Places.” The 10-week study will begin Sept.24. A workbook is available with homework for 5 days a weeks. You will also be able to watch a 45-minute weekly video or download a podcast of the message, and then share in an online discussion with other moms. Interested?
Get more details at http://highsteppinginheavenlyplaces.wordpress.com or at blog at http://jeanstockdale.typepad.com. We would love to have you join us! Blessings.
